Joe has spent more than a decade covering health policy, coming to Healthcare Leader/Pulse PCN/The Pharmacist in February 2026 after a two-year stint as the NHS Confederation’s media manager.
He started his career as health reporter at the Reading Chronicle then the Oxford Mail before becoming HSJ’s first mental health correspondent in 2016.
He later spent four years at the Press Association newswire covering breaking news, politics and crime for the national newspapers and broadcasters. While there he also covered the Infected Blood Inquiry and Covid pandemic.
