Getting ready for the event

For the best viewing experience, we recommend using a desktop or laptop with a reliable internet connection and an up-to-date browser. Your personal access details will be emailed to you ahead of the event.

Yes, you will need to register to attend the event but not individual sessions. Please sign up here to book your free ticket for GDPUK Events.

Yes, we encourage practice teams to take part. Each attendee should register individually using their own email address to receive their personal access link.

No, registering for the event will allow you access to all sessions.

No, you can join whichever sessions are most relevant to you. Once registered, you'll have access to all sessions throughout the event.

Absolutely. As the event is entirely virtual, you can join from your practice, home or anywhere with a reliable internet connection. We recommend using a desktop or laptop for the best experience.

You will be sent an email on the morning of the event to allow you to view the event sessions. If you can't find the email from us, please visit the Agenda page, click "View Session", the website will then ask you to log in. At this stage, please click "Forgot Password" and create a new one.

Once your password has been set, please log in when prompted. Now you will be able to join each session from the Agenda page. You will need to join each session separately and there are usually 15 minutes in between each talk for a comfort break.

No additional software should be required. Sessions can be accessed through your web browser using the links provided. We recommend using an up-to-date version of Google Chrome.

We aim to make session recordings available after the event, where permissions allow. Further information about accessing recordings will be shared with registered attendees.

Where available, attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions during sessions. Our speakers will aim to address as many relevant questions as possible within the allocated time.

Information about certificates of attendance and any applicable CPD accreditation will be communicated to registered attendees.

You do not have to log in to access the event as we will send you a direct 'magic link' to the event on the day.

However, in the event that this link does not reach you, or doesn't work, you can reset a password which will then give you access to the day's talks. The reset email may take a few minutes to come through so please be patient and make sure you are using the same email address as you used when you registered.

This typically affects those watching on a phone. We recommend watching on a desktop or tablet for the best experience.

You must have your phone in landscape in order to view slides. For some Apple devices this does not seem to resolve the issue. In that case we advise using a different device or desktop.

It is best to use Google Chrome where possible as your internet browser.

When you join each virtual event session, you will see an icon which looks like a microphone at the bottom of the black screen.

You must join by clicking this button in order to hear the speakers.

If your connection drops, simply return to the session using your original access link. We recommend checking your internet connection and refreshing your browser if you experience any issues.
