Session Title
Data is often described as the new gold—but how can local systems turn data into meaningful improvements in patient care?
In England, this session will explore whether higher uptake of Pharmacy First is associated with stronger performance across key population health indicators, including flu vaccination uptake, QOF-recorded hypertension prevalence, community pharmacy hypertension case-finding activity, and emergency hospital admissions.
Moving from ICB-level analysis to PCNs and neighbourhoods, and drawing on case studies from Essex, Avon and Derby, speakers will examine areas where high Pharmacy First uptake appears alongside better outcomes, exploring what this may reveal about the impact of closer collaboration between general practice and community pharmacy, and how data can be used to identify opportunities, strengthen neighbourhood partnerships and support more proactive care.
The session will then turn to Scotland, exploring how data is being used to inform public health interventions, service planning and population health improvement, and the lessons this offers for population health management across the UK.
