Yvonne began her nursing career 40 years ago and has been involved in travel health, tropical medicine and primary care for just as long. She spent 13 years working in southern and west Africa for the US and UK governments, NGOs, and corporate industry. These experiences further inspired her career long passion for travel health and her interest in traditional medicine practices. In the UK she has set up travel clinics in the private and public sector and promotes lifelong vaccination awareness and the importance of vaccine confident HCP’s.
Yvonne is a Fellow of the Faculty of Travel Medicine, RCPS, Glasgow, and is a module lead on the RCPSG Postgraduate Diploma in Travel Medicine and an independent travel health specialist nurse. She is the Honorary Secretary of the British Global Travel Health Association (BGTHA).
