Dr Francis has been working as a GP in Chadderton, Oldham, for over 18 years, and as a specialist in persistent pain with Pennine MSK for over 10 years. Over that time, she has supported the pain service to evolve and embrace a holistic approach to pain management with a specific programme delivered by specialist physiotherapists, nurses, OTs, doctors, psychologist, psychiatrists and CBT therapists. Working closely with the wider PMSK colleagues including Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, as well as the local Neurology and Spinal teams.

Dr Francis has also worked with Health Innovation Manchester delivering local innovative projects and Population Health initiatives. She was a PCN Clinical Director for 6 years, delivering the Covid vaccination programme across Oldham and supporting the locality in service delivery through Covid and beyond. Dr Francis has acted as an advocate for her locality and a voice against health inequalities and supporting deprivation healthcare.
