Speaker Bio
Seyi did his undergraduate medical training in Nigeria before completing GP training in Scotland.
He has been a GP partner at the same practice in Stoke-on-Trent since 2003.
In addition to being a GP trainer, he is also a clinical teacher with Keele University Medical School.
He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2013 in recognition of his local leadership on diabetes matters. Seyi is the lead GP for the local Diabetes Clinical Network and provides advice for the local commissioners on diabetes care and provision.
He has co-authored academic papers which have been published in journals such as the British Medical Journal, British Journal of General Practice and Midlands Medicine.
Working collaboratively with local secondary care colleagues, he has been involved in the Diabetes Question Time educational event for primary care clinicians which have been held locally twice a year since 2015. He has also been able to discuss diabetes matters on a local radio station.
Seyi is an aspiring drummer.
