Prof Hermione Price is a consultant Diabetologist at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Hampshire and at University Hospitals Dorset in Bournemouth. Prof Price is a visiting Professor at the Health Sciences University and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Southampton where she has a research interest in the interface between diabetes and mental ill health. Prof Price has published widely on this topic and has received several research awards.

Prof Price was awarded her DPhil by the University of Oxford in 2010. Her doctoral research concerned cardiovascular disease risk in adults living with type 2 diabetes.

Prof Price is passionate about delivering specialist diabetes care in a community setting. She is especially interested in improving care for those people often thought of as “hardly reached” including people in care homes or living with a serious mental disorder or a learning disability.
