Janaka is a clinical reader (associate professor) in Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease in the School of Cardiovascular Medicine & Sciences at King's College London. He graduated with a distinction in medicine from the University of London and was awarded a PhD for research on the pathophysiology and treatment of cardiovascular disease and renal disease in diabetes. Janaka has more 20 years of experience and specialist expertise managing patients with renal and cardio-vascular complications related to diabetes at Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital and has also established community based cardio-renal metabolic clinics in London working with primary care colleagues focussed on early identification and treatment to reduce cardiovascular and renal complications.
