Louise is an academic GP and Professor of Primary Care and Ageing at Newcastle University. She is a past Director of the Newcastle University Institute of Ageing and created the National Innovation for Ageing at Newcastle University. Her research is focused on improving quality of life and quality of care for older people, especially those with dementia. Louise was primary care lead for the Prime Minister’s Dementia Challenge and was a member of the 2018 NICE Dementia Care Guidelines development group.
