Dr Louise Michaelis is a Consultant Paediatrician and Senior Lecture in Allergy at The Great North Children’s Hospital Newcastle upon Tyne and Newcastle University.
She has a specialist interest in models of care, multisystem allergic disease, allergy prevention, machine learning and immune modifying therapies.
She leads The Newcastle Allergy Centre, a World Allergy Organisation Centre of Excellence.
She is Principle Investigator for NIHR Allergy Prevention clinical trials and international clinical guidelines in multi-system allergic disease and anaphylaxis. She is Vice President for Services, and Co-Chair for the GP with Extended Role Programme, for the British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI). She is a committee member for the BSACI Registry for Immunotherapies and the Gastroenterology Allergy Practice Network (GAP).
