Sue Whitehead joined the GMC in January 2022 and is a London Regional Liaison Adviser in its Outreach Team which supports doctors through learning events to apply Good Medical Practice in their everyday working lives.
Sue is the GMC Outreach Portfolio lead on student professionalism and professional behaviours in healthcare settings.
Sue previously worked for Cancer Research UK in the charity’s Early Diagnosis team overseeing the National Cancer Diagnosis Audit roll-out in London and advising on Quality Improvement initiatives in primary care using practice referral and recognition data. Sue also ran GP group reflection sessions on late or missed cancer diagnoses for GPs.
Before moving into the charity sector in 2013, Sue was a journalist for 13 years on Pulse the GP newspaper where she worked as a senior reporter and features editor.
