Speaker Bio
Dr Hipps earned a degree in Natural Sciences and a PhD in molecular recognition and biochemistry before starting her medical career. After medical school at St Mary’s Paddington, she went into General Practice. She joined the Exchange Surgery in 2008 and became a partner and GP trainer. She completed the Masters in Genomic Medicine in 2021 and became part of the Primary Care Workforce Group in Genomics producing resources for Futurelearn and GeNotes. She was appointed as Primary Care lead for the South East Genomic Medicine Service and works in education, representation and service development. She also works as a GPwER in Genomic Medicine at St George’s Hospital Breast Unit running a breast cancer risk reduction service.
