Dr Katie Browne is a Senior Medical Officer with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services and Clinical Lead for the Primary Care Facilitation Team. She is a GP, addiction medicine specialist, clinical educator, coach and medical mentor, with over 20 years’ experience across general practice, addiction medicine, psychiatry and medical education. Katie has worked in shared care from both general practice and specialist addiction service perspectives, including as a GP partner and GP trainer. She holds, and now teaches on, the RCGP Certificate in the Management of Drug Misuse and has led city-wide service redesign to support integrated, trauma-informed care aligned to the Scottish Government’s Medication Assisted Treatment standards. Her interests include harm reduction, health inequalities, inclusion, medical education and collaborative working across primary care and specialist services.
