Dr Gareth Oelmann is Chair of GPC Wales and a GP partner in Gwent, South Wales. With over two decades of clinical experience, he has been a member of GPC Wales since 2016, previously serving as Vice Chair and Chair of Gwent LMC. He also sits on the BMA Welsh Council. Dr Oelmann is a passionate advocate for Welsh general practice, leading national campaigns such as "Save Our Surgeries" and championing workforce, workload, and wellbeing reforms. Under his leadership, GPC Wales secured a Senedd Health Committee inquiry into GP funding and navigated a landmark contractual referendum. He is committed to ensuring GPs have a strong voice in shaping healthcare policy and driving post-pandemic recovery.
