Dr Leigh Sanyaolu is a General Practitioner in South Wales and an NIHR Doctoral Fellow at Cardiff University. His research focuses on improving the management of recurrent urinary tract infections, particularly optimising the use of long-term prophylactic antibiotics. He leads the IMPART programme, which evaluates antibiotic and non-antibiotic treatment strategies to support shared decision-making in primary care.
Alongside his clinical and research work, he contributes to medical education and has published widely on antibiotic stewardship and patient-centred care.
