Speaker Bio
Dr Roy Hamilton is a GP Senior Partner with a specialist interest in diabetes and cardio-renal-metabolic health. He works across clinical practice, education and service development, with a focus on translating evidence into practical, person-centred care.
He is an Honorary Lecturer and a co-module lead on the University of Leicester Diabetes MSc programme, delivered in association with the Leicester Diabetes Centre. He holds a Master’s degree in Diabetes with distinction and is actively involved in training clinicians across primary care.
In 2024, he was selected as a Diabetes UK Clinical Champion. His work focuses on improving CVRM outcomes, reducing health inequalities and supporting more joined-up approaches to long-term condition management.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys surfing, skating, yoga, meditation and travelling in his VW camper van.
