Speaker Bio
Dr Fraser Hewett is a GP with 20 years of experience in the UK & rural Canada. He is Clinical Director of ASP PCN and he has been on the Board of Our Health Partnership (OHP) since 2021, with responsibility for setting up additional clinical services for PCNs covering 450,000 patients.
He has driven the development of the UK’s first Primary Care accelerator in collaboration with business start-up specialists HARBR, joining the West Midlands Health Innovation Technology Accelerator and collaborating with University of Birmingham’s CERSI-AI in order to safely implement AI in Primary Care.
He is OHP Board lead for research and was instrumental in setting up OHP’s primary care research-hub, building external research partnerships with NIHR, BCU and the University of Birmingham. Dr Hewett has diverse areas of clinical interest, including cardiology, mental health, diabetes and minor surgery and research interests including adolescent experiences of menstruation and endometriosis, as well as workforce development and well-being.
