Steph Lawrence has been a nurse for over 37 years, working in the community for the last 22 years. She is an adult and children's trained general nurse, and a District Nurse. She was Chief Nurse at Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust until August 2024. She was the CQC’s National Professional Adviser for Community Services for 3 years. She led the national trailblazer group for the District Nurse Apprenticeship standard. She co-chaired the Clinical Reference Group for the National Community Nursing Plan. She received an MBE in 2022 for services to District Nursing. Steph took over as Chief Executive at the Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing on 1st July 2025. She is a Queen’s Nurse and Fellow of the QICN.
