Michael Griffiths is a Mental Health Nurse and Independent Nurse Prescriber working in Primary Care within NHS Forth Valley. He has more than 30 years’ experience in mental health services across a wide range of clinical settings, including older adult psychiatry, acute inpatient care, intensive home treatment, community mental health nursing, unscheduled care and out-of-hours assessment.
Since 2018, Michael has worked in Primary Care Mental Health, supporting people presenting with a broad range of mental health and psychological difficulties within general practice. His clinical practice is informed by training in Group Analytic Psychotherapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with a particular interest in practical, psychologically informed approaches that can be applied within everyday healthcare.
Alongside his clinical role, Michael works as a trainer and facilitator with teams and organisations. His wider work draws on behavioural science and psychological principles to explore how people respond to pressure, uncertainty and challenging situations, and how these insights can support wellbeing, effective working and performance under pressure.
