Susan McIlwaine Susan is an experienced GPN who works across clinical practice and education, with a focus on translating evidence and guidelines into practical, person-centred care. Her clinical interests include type 2 diabetes, cardio-renal-metabolic (CVRM) health and multimorbidity. She is focused on helping clinicians move beyond a disease-specific approach towards integrated management of long-term conditions, supporting earlier, evidence-based interventions in partnership with people, and aligned with what matters most to them. Susan is passionate about supporting healthcare professionals to build their skills and confidence through practical, relevant education that can be applied immediately in practice. Her teaching is firmly rooted in current evidence and shaped by an understanding of the real-world challenges faced by both clinicians and the people they care for.
