Beverley Bostock works as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in long-term conditions in general
practice in Gloucestershire and is an independent prescriber. Beverley is the Asthma Lead for
the Association of Respiratory Nurses (ARNS) and Chair of the ARNS Respiratory Diseases
subcommittee. She also sits on the Executive Committee of the Primary Care Respiratory
Society and the Council of Healthcare Professionals at Asthma + Lung UK. She has an MSc in
Respiratory Care and an MA in Medical Ethics and Law.
Beverley was a member of the Topic Expert Group which developed the Asthma Quality
Standards for the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and sat on the
National Review of Asthma Deaths. She was a member of the National Severe Asthma and
FeNO (fractional exhaled nitric oxide) working groups and is a National Severe Asthma
Champion. She is a regular speaker at conferences around the UK and is a member of the
International Coalition of Respiratory Nurses. Beverley is Editor-in-Chief of Practice Nurse and
has been a Queen’s Nurse since 2015, a title awarded to nurses who have demonstrated a
