Leaving the NHS after more than 40 years, Marilyn returned to help with the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020, initially working in a community hospital. She now acts as an independent nurse consultant for quality, patient safety and nursing.
Marilyn has worked as a practice nurse, community midwife, health visitor, nurse trainer and nurse advisor. She was the former Lead Nurse and Head of Clinical Quality & Risk at NHS Brighton & Hove where she was the Named Nurse for Child & Adult safeguarding and led the development of Practice Nursing Competencies and a Competency Framework for Registered Nurses in Nursing Homes.
