Holly Hayward is a Community Respiratory and Oxygen Nurse Specialist with a specialist interest in asthma, severe asthma, COPD and respiratory care. She has extensive experience across both secondary and community care, having previously worked within a Severe Asthma service and critical care before moving into community respiratory nursing.

Holly has a particular interest in improving the quality and accessibility of respiratory care, with experience in asthma biologics, home oxygen, respiratory assessment, patient education and self-management, and supporting the development of respiratory services across primary and community care. She is passionate about translating evidence into practical clinical care and has developed and delivered respiratory education for healthcare professionals, including CPD-accredited education.

Alongside her clinical role, Holly has been involved in service improvement and healthcare inequalities work, including contributing to the AAC Asthma Biologics Project and leading work through the Innovation for Healthcare Inequalities Programme. She is also involved in respiratory education and professional development locally and nationally, and has a particular interest in supporting nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop confidence in managing complex respiratory disease.

Holly is currently undertaking a combined Physical Health Assessment and Independent Non-Medical Prescribing programme and continues to develop her interests in respiratory research, clinical education and quality improvement. She was recently elected as a Staff Governor for the Nursing constituency at Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.
