Speaker Bio
Clair is a qualified pharmacist with 29 years’ post registration experience in clinical, managerial and strategic fields.
In 2004 she qualified as one of the first pharmacist prescribers, and in 2017 she became the First Consultant Pharmacist in primary care in the UK. She has a special interest in renal and cardiovascular medicine and has worked for NICE as an expert advisor authoring a number of clinical guidelines. Recently she was appointed as the CVD Primary Prevention Clinical Lead for Birmingham and Solihull ICB.
Clair works as an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Birmingham School of Pharmacy.
She has won numerous awards including a PHARMA award for outstanding contribution to public health through pharmacy, HSJ award for workforce development and was winner of an NHS Institute innovation challenge prize.
She is currently the lead for the research, the pharmacy team (pharmacists and technicians), additional reimbursable roles and the PCN Contract in a GP super partnership in Birmingham and Shropshire.
She prides herself in taking a no-nonsense approach in pursuing her passion for developing people and systems to improve population health!
