Julie Pregnall is the Practice Director and Partner at Dukinfield Medical Practice in Tameside, Greater Manchester. She has worked in general practice for over 12 years, initially serving as a Practice Manager before becoming a Partner and Practice Director. Her responsibilities encompass all aspects of running a busy GP practice, including HR and workforce, governance, quality improvement, staff development, and wellbeing.

Prior to entering general practice, Julie spent 15 years with Barclays in a range of management and leadership roles, building a strong foundation in managing and developing people.

Julie is particularly passionate about supporting individuals in the workplace, especially when they are navigating difficult circumstances. Recently, Julie contributed to the development of the GP Bereavement by Suicide Support – Trauma-Informed Return to Work Protocol, providing a crucial practice management and employer perspective. This ongoing work focuses on how to better support GPs who have been personally affected by bereavement by suicide, helping practices approach their return to work with compassion, understanding, and flexibility.
