Born and raised in Gloucester, Idris studied pharmacy at University of Bradford, before joining Gloucestershire Hospitals in 2005. After working through various departments within pharmacy, Idris worked as a clinical pharmacist for 8 years before moving into his current role. Idris currently leads a well-established homecare team, seeing to over 8000 GHFT patients annually via homecare.
Idris has a passion for optimising homecare pathways and processes, working as champion for the South West Homecare collaborative. Working with homecare providers, Idris has helped lead and innovate biosimilar/generic transitions via homecare. In his medication safety officer role, he is member of the SW regional Medication Safety Officer group and is a member of the NHS England Medicines Safety Improvement Board.
