Hanan Hamad is a Clinical Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice at the University of Reading and an Independent Prescriber with over 10 years of clinical experience across hospital and general practice settings.

She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education from Norwich Medical School and serves as a Designated Prescribing Practitioner (DPP), leading education and supervision through the Teach & Treat programme with Frimley ICB. A former Quality Improvement Fellow with Thames Valley and Wessex Primary Care School, her work focuses on advancing pharmacist roles in primary care, especially in managing cardiorespiratory long-term conditions and cardiovascular disease prevention. Hanan has led student placement projects supporting the CVD Prevent Programme and is passionate about integrating the pharmacy workforce into primary care teams.

She has presented nationally and internationally, including at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, Royal College of General Practitioners, and the International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare, advocating for pharmacists as clinical leaders in general practice.
