Dr Shanker Vijay is GP Lead for Digital Transformation in Primary Care) at NHS England (London region). He is also a Digital/IT lead in North West London ICB.
Shanker enjoys simple innovations to tackle problems facing both patients and staff. In his London role, he is presently particularly involved in Automation/AI, Pharmacy First, Online registration, Online consultations/Digital Tools and NHS App.
Shanker has been a GP since 2004 and works clinically in North West London. He was a shortlisted finalist for an EHI Award in 2011 for the ‘Best Use of Social Media in Healthcare’ and for a HSJ Digital Award in 2025 for Automation/AI. His management experience includes Board level roles in both Commissioning and Provider organisations
