The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing is a charity dedicated to improving nursing care for people at home and in the community. Every year, millions of people of all ages need professional nursing care, in or close to home. People today live longer, often with complex health conditions, and they are discharged from hospital more quickly. Those patients can make a better recovery, and can avoid unnecessary hospital re-admissions, if they have the support of skilled community nurses. We work with nurses, managers and policy makers to make sure that high quality nursing is available for everyone in their homes and communities. Our aim is to ensure that people receive high quality care when and where they need it, from the right nurse, with the right skills.
