Melinda qualified from the University of Bradford in 2005 and has worked across multiple sectors of pharmacy, including community, mental health, and the prison service. Her specialist palliative care career began in 2009 with a Macmillan palliative care team, focusing on pharmaceutical support for patients in primary care. In 2019, Melinda moved to her Consultant Pharmacist post in Oxford, where she continues her work. She has served as Senior Clinical Lead in palliative care for NHSE/I and is chairperson of the ASPCP and co-lead for the Ambitions Partnership for Palliative Care and End of Life Care. Melinda is a qualified non-medical prescriber and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education, which fuels her passion for planning and delivering education to pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
