Ishaq is the Lead Pharmacist and an Advanced Clinical Practitioner at the award-winning Brooke Surgery, where he plays a pivotal role in driving clinical excellence and innovation in primary care. He has a specialist interest Diabetes where he is currently doing a Masters. In addition to this role, he serves as the Lead Clinical Mentor for the Independent Prescribing Pathfinder Programme in Greater Manchester. In this capacity, he oversees multiple community pharmacy sites, supporting the development of prescribing pharmacists through clinical mentorship.
Ishaq has previously held the position of course lead for the Independent Prescribing programme at the University of Lancashire where he was instrumental in shaping the academic and practical framework of MPharm NMP programme. Ishaq was also part of the first cohort of Clinical Advisors and Specialist Inspectors at the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), where he supported the inspectorate, the fitness to practice and policy teams with matters pertaining to Pharmacist Independent Prescribers.
