Anna Young is an accomplished portfolio nurse with extensive experience spanning clinical practice, strategic leadership, education, and research. Currently working across strategic development of advancing practice, embedded research and clinical practice, Anna has demonstrated a proven ability to create new workstreams and drive innovation using research and change models.
With a career marked by compassionate leadership and a commitment to advancing the nursing profession, Anna has led initiatives that significantly increased the number and confidence of the multi-professional workforce in non-medical prescribing. Anna is recognised for fostering collaboration with key stakeholders—including Integrated Care Systems, Chief Nursing Officers, and national organisations—to enhance governance, quality, and professional development across the workforce.
A champion for nurse representation, Anna has advocated for nurses on decision-making boards and committees at local, regional, and national levels. Anna has also contributed to policy development, co-creating frameworks for non-medical prescribing and advancing practice, and has played a pivotal role in embedding research into clinical settings.
