The role of general practice and community pharmacy in earlier diagnosis of suspected bowel cancer
Description
- This session will equip delegates with an overview of colorectal cancer, its risk factors and red flag symptoms, and the common lower GI medicines that patients may request that should prompt further investigation.
- The session will also cover the use of FIT in symptomatic patients within primary care, the bowel cancer screening programme and the important role of general practice and community pharmacy in managing and referring suspected bowel cancer patients.
- The speaker will also share support services that are available from Bowel Cancer UK and highlight the importance of primary care signposting to patients with colorectal cancer.
