Dr. Andrew Docherty is a Consultant Cardiologist at Wishaw General and Hairmyres Hospitals in Lanarkshire, UK. He graduated M.B., Ch.B. (Commendation) from the University of Glasgow in 1991 and earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and Medical Cardiology in 2002.  Dr. Docherty has advanced cardiology, notably through the Optimal Reperfusion Therapy Service in West Scotland. He has held key leadership roles, including Chair of the Area Medical Advisory Committee and a non-executive member of the NHS Lanarkshire Board, contributing to a 20% reduction in mortality rates during his tenure. 

In addition to his clinical work, he is a dedicated educator, holding the Royal College Advanced Certificate in Clinical Education and is a former Chair of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh Cardiology Symposium organizing committee. He has authored numerous publications and presented widely in his field.
