Dr Ernie Wong is a consultant respiratory physician with specialist interest in asthma. His NHS practice is based at St Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, where he is the clinical lead for asthma. He is an Honorary Clinical Senior at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. He holds a PhD investigating the role of the airway microbiome in asthma exacerbation. His current research collaborations include the use of an AI chatbot in optimising asthma control, the impact of air pollution in asthma and the role of hormones in asthma. In addition to leading the asthma service, he also runs general respiratory clinics and acute medical on-calls, reviewing a broad range of respiratory and medical conditions
