Dr. Alexander Lyon is a consultant cardiologist and head of the Cardio-Oncology service at the Royal Brompton Hospital since it was created in 2011. Alex is director of the Cardio-Oncology Centre of Excellence which received a gold award by the International Cardio-Oncology Society (ICOS) in 2021. Alex is an executive board member of ICOS and he was co-chair of the first European Society of Cardiology Cardio-Oncology Guidelines. He is the immediate past chair of the ESC Council of Cardio-Oncology, the past president of the British Cardio-Oncology Society, and he is currently deputy editor of the European Heart Journal. Alex has published over 250 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals with a current H-index of 69.
