He is ex- respiratory clinical champion and respiratory lead at the RCGP.and is currently clinical adviser at RCGP and NICE He sits on the policy committee of Primary Care Respiratory Society and is ex-education lead of the Group .He has sat on NICE COPD and asthma guidelines and Clinical Standards committees and is currently a member of the NICE Asthma Guidelines committee.He has published 60+research articles , mainly in COPD and asthma. He has recently been a member of the British Thoracic Society Bronchiectasis and Chronic cough Guideline Committees.
He is GPwsI in Sports Medicine and has served as medical officer to Bath Rugby Club, British Army and South -West England Rugby.
